Fans react as legendary dancer Shabba-Doo dies a day to New Year (photo)

- Social media users have taken to the internet to mourn the death of a legendary dancer called Shabba-Doo

- The dancer's death was announced on Wednesday, December 30, by one of his crew members

The year 2020 seems to have swallowed more people than any year has ever done. Just one day to the New Year, the passing away of Adolfo Gutierrez Quinones, popularly known as Shabba-Doo, the legendary dancer-actor-choreographer was announced, Joblo reports.

The 65-year-old late entertainer was reportedly one of the people who pioneered hip-hop dancing. He was also one of the stars of the film called Breakin.

Shabba-Doo was a member of the dance crew called The Original Lockers that introduced the 'locking style' of dance to breakdancing and hip-hop.

One of his fellow members, Toni Basil, announced Quinones’ death in the evening of Wednesday, December 30. Basil, however, did not announce the cause of his death.

He wrote:

"It is with extreme sadness the Lockers family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved Adolfo Shabba-Doo Quinones. In this difficult time, we are requesting privacy."

Meanwhile, on the same day that his death was announced, the actor shared a photo of himself on his bed.

He stated that he felt a bit sluggish from the cold he has, however, he noted that he felt better.

Shabba-Doo also announced that he is COVID-19 negative.

Fans of the late dancer took to the comment section of Basil who made the announcement of the dancer's death to mourn him.

In other news, Legit.ng earlier reported that veteran actress Louisa Nwobodo passed on.

Confirming the death of the late Nollywood actress, ex-chairman of the Enugu chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Stan K Amadi, said that she died after she collapsed inside her car at St. Mulumbas Catholic Church, New Haven, Enugu.

Nwobodo was reportedly rushed to the hospital and was confirmed dead by healthcare workers.
