The Aminu Wali-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano state has expelled the former governor of the state, Rabi Musa Kwankwaso over alleged anti-party activities.
The Nation reports that Kwankwaso's expulsion was announced on Thursday, December 17, shortly after a congress brought into place a new leadership of the faction.
Legit.ng gathered that the group also accused the 2019 PDP presidential aspirant and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, of gross violation of constitutional orders of the PDP.
The report said that for a long time, the Wali faction and Kwankwasiyya movement had been in a leadership tussle for the soul of the PDP in Kano.
The court recently held that the caretaker committee put in place by the Kwankwaso faction was the legitimate leadership of the PDP.
But apparently not satisfied with the high court verdict, the Aminu Wali faction approached the Court of Appeal to upturn the ruling by the lower court.
The new executives elected by the Wali factional PDP have Muhammina Bako Lamido as state chairman of the party while Garba Abdullahi Gezawa is secretary.

Ojezua who led some APC members to the PDP said he left the party due to a loss of confidence in its national leadership.
