Kankara: Abducted Katsina schoolboys now in Zamfara forest, Governor Masari says

Governor Bello Masari of Katsina state has said the kidnapped students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, are in a forest in Zamfara state.

According to The Punch, Masari, who was answering questions on BBC Hausa on Wednesday night, December 16, said he got information that the students are in Zamfara.

“They are in Zamfara forests, we have got the information."

Legit.ng gathers that the Katsina state governor said his government is negotiating with the kidnappers to ensure the safe release of the abducted students.

Governor Masari also reportedly denied the allegation that the students were kidnapped by Boko Haram.

In a related development, the leader of INRI Evangelical spiritual church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has declared that he knows where the abducted boys are kept.

The cleric said the kidnapped students are now somewhere between the Niger Republic and Nigeria.

Legit.ng gathered that the cleric said God showed him the school children were held hostage in a vision.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported the National Inter-Faith and Religious Organisations for Peace (NIFROP), on Tuesday, December 15, conducted a one-day national prayer for the safe return of the abducted students.

It was reported that the religious group also prayed for wisdom for the leadership of the Nigerian armed forces in deploying strategic operations for the rescue of the young students.
