1. Briggs family
The Briggs family is from the Niger Delta and it is one of the wealthiest families in Nigeria. Late Chief Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs, the family's patriarch, founded Moni Pulo Limited, an oil exploration and production company.
2. Ibru family
The Ibru family popularly known as the Ibru organisation hails from the Agbarha-Otor, near Ughelli in Delta state.
The Ibru organisation is one of the largest conglomerates in Nigeria. The family patriarch was Chief Peter Epete Ibru.
3. Tinubu family
The Tinubu family is one of the wealthiest families in Nigeria. The patriarch of the family is the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who governed Lagos from 1999 to 2007.
The chieftain of the ruling party is both a politician and an entrepreneur with multiple businesses.
4. Dantata family
The Dantata family is one of the wealthiest families in the country. Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, is from this family.
The chairman of the Dangote group is the great-grandson of Alhaji Alhassan Dantata, the richest West African at the time of his death in 1955.
5. Saraki family
The Saraki family is from Kwara state and the most popular family in the northcentral state.
Former Senate president Bukola Saraki is from this family and he remains the most popular member of the family.
The family's patriarch was the late Doctor Olusola Abubakar Saraki, a Nigerian politician, who was a senator in the Second Republic.
