The Reds trailed the Cottagers for over 80 minutes of the meeting before two-time Premier League golden boot winner Mohamed Salah grabbed a late equaliser for the visitors.

Fulham got the game started on a bright note following their chance to score the opener inside five minutes after an excellent break via Ivan Cavaleiro but was denied by Alisson Becker

Cavaleiro squandered yet another chance for the hosts 10 minutes as he failed to beat Alisson after he was set up by Lookman.

Efforts by Scott Parker's men eventually paid off in the 25th minute through Bobby Reid who fired the ball into the left-hand corner from just inside the box to make it 1-0.

Adarabioyo nearly doubled the advantage seven minutes later but Alisson was in place to chalk off the threat.

The second half of the match saw Liverpool finally settle in, with Jürgen Klopp introducing Minamino for Joel Matip.

However, they had to wait until the 79th minute to finally equalise through Mohamed Salah who slotted home from the spot after Aboukara Kamara who was introduced minutes earlier handling the ball in the area.

The visitors' subsequent efforts to score a winner proved futile, with Fulham holding on to claim an important point.

The draw means the Reds remain second on the standings with 25 points, on level with Tottenham Hotspur who top despite their 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Crystal Palace denied Tottenham Hotspur a chance to go three points clear at the top after rallying back to hold Jose Mourinho's men to a 1-1 draw.

The match saw Jose Mourinho drop Gareth Bale from the squad, with the Welshman missing the trip with illness.

However, his star forwards Kane and Heung-Min Son did step up, with the pair once again combining perfectly to steer Spurs to victory.
