Jorgi Farre who is among candidates fighting to become next Barcelona president has claimed that the club's captain Lionel Messi would sign a new contract if he should win.
This latest development will come as a cheering news for all Barcelona fans who have been worried over the future of the Argentina international.
Lionel Messi's current contract with the Spanish giants will expire at the end of the ongoing League season and the Argentine has already been linked with a move to Manchester City.

According to the latest report on GOAL, Jordi Farre explained that Lionel Messi wants to stay and will convince the forward to sign new deal.
''Lionel Messi wants to stay at Barcelona and that's what I know. His family also want to remain at Barcelona and we are going to work on it.
''I would go as far to say to say that if we win the elections, Messi will renew his deal and his renewal will be incurred automatically 25.''
The 45-year-old also explained that he would try his best to bring back Brazilian forward Neymar to the Nou Camp three seasons after his departure.
