TY Danjuma: Jonathan sends message to ex-minister of defence at 82

The former Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan Ebele Jonathan, has sent his goodwill message to the former Chief of Army Staff and minister of defence, TY Danjuma, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday celebration.
Jonathan, in a statement made available to Legit.ng, described Danjuma as a true patriot who gave much while in office to promote unity in the country and the nation's territorial integrity.
The former leader recalled that the ex-COAS served his country with enviable passion and commitment.
Jonathan, in his message to Danjuma, said:
“On behalf of my family, I join your family, friends, and well-wishers to congratulate you on your 82nd birthday.
“You are a patriot who has contributed greatly to promoting peace and defending the unity of Nigeria, having served as Chief of Army Staff and Minister of Defence at various administrations in our country.
“Sir, I celebrate you for your unwavering passion and commitment to the progress and development of Nigeria. Even at retirement, you have continued to display great passion and commitment to the welfare of the people through the TY Danjuma Foundation.
“As you celebrate, I pray for more of God's glory, strength and peace for you and your household. Happy Birthday, Sir.”

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari and Danjuma met behind closed doors at the State House.
The personal assistant to the president (photography), Sunday Aghaeze, confirmed the meeting on Wednesday, October 28, via pictorial reports.
Legit.ng gathered that the agenda of the meeting which came amid ongoing controversy generated by the Lekki shooting was not yet known as at the time of filing this report.
