The president's statement follows the "second wave" of the #EndSARS protest which allegedly begins on Monday, December 7.

Legit.ng earlier reported that some youths in Osun state staged another EndSARS protest as they were seen in Osogbo near the state House of Assembly.

The youths called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to unfreeze the bank accounts of some #EndSARS protesters and also demanded good governance.

In a related development, armed police officers and soldiers have been deployed to the Lekki Toll Gate plaza amid fears of another round of the #EndSARS protests in the state.

Motorists and pedestrians informed journalists that the security operatives were deployed to the place in the early hours of Monday, December 7.

Recall that the Nigeria Police Force had earlier warned that they would not tolerate another protest which would lead to massive vandalisation of public and private properties in many parts of the country.

Similarly, the EndSARS protesters in Lagos state had earlier been warned against carrying out further demonstrations.

In a statement on Friday, November 6, by the commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, the government urged the protesters to heed the warning of the police.

Omotosho said anyone with any grievance against the police force should approach the judicial panel of inquiry to state his or her case.

The previous round of the #EndSARS protests was hijacked by suspected hoodlums who unleashed mayhem across the nation.

Several properties belonging to the government and private individuals were burnt while various shops and malls were also looted.
