Borno attacks: Boko Haram terrorists burn down houses in Kareto, kill 13 loggers in Damboa

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have killed at least 13 loggers in Damboa local government area.
The terrorists in a separate attack also burnt down the ancient town of Kareto, Mobar local government area in Borno state, Daily Trust reports.
According to the newspaper, the two attacks occurred on Friday, November 27.
A member of vigilante group, Abakar Damboa, disclosed that victims in Damboa were the displaced persons from central IDP camp who went to fell firewood.
He said the victims were buried on the same day.
In Kareto town, the newly reconstructed houses by the state government for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were burnt down.
A source was cited as saying the incident happened a few days after the resettlement committee set up by the government visited and cleaned the whole town in preparation for the return of IDPs.
Daily Trust notes that the two attacks were overshadowed by the killing in Zabarmari town on Saturday, November 28, which was greeted by wide condemnation.
Legit.ng reported that over 40 rice farmers were killed by men suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists.
The farmers met their untimely death while harvesting their crops in Zabarmari, a Borno community known for rice farming.
Sources said the farmers were rounded up and summarily slaughtered by the armed insurgents.

Meanwhile, following the latest attacks, the governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum, has made seven recommendations to the federal government to defeat the Boko Haram insurgents.
He made the recommendations when he received a delegation of the federal government which was in the state on a condolence visit.
Among others, Governor Zulum advised the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to recruit foreign mercenaries to help in ending the Boko Haram insurgency, instead of relying solely on the Nigerian security forces.
