Things might start going bad for the terrorists ravaging Nigeria as President Muhammadu Buhari gave a marching order to the military.

The president specifically ordered the military to take the fight to the insurgents.

He said:

“As we mourn all the lives lost in Zabarmari, the Armed Forces have been given the marching order to take the fight to the insurgents, not on a one-off, but on a continuous basis, until we root out the terrorists.”

Going further, Buhari said there is nothing more important than ensuring the security of lives and property of Nigerians.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the latest order from the president

Tony Vsan wrote:

"To my understanding, the matching order here is to raid the terrorists, arrest, detain, give better medical treatment, reward and reintegrate them into the society so that they can in turn be president of Nigeria. That's Nigeria rules of engagement."

Godwin Akpan said:

"This is not the first time the president is giving such orders, we've been hearing the same orders by the president and we're still seeing and hearing of more deaths.
"It's only peaceful protesters they can shoot and Kill. Even the Niger Delta can destroy this so-called Boko-haram in 2weeks."

Felix Ugwoke added:

"Matching order after six years. Very good. At least we have heard that. Let us watch whether it will go like that given to IG of police to move to Benue state."

Meanwhile, in a stunning development, Legit.ng had reported that the United Nations (UN) retracted its initial casualty figure of farmers killed in Borno state.

Legit.ng had reported that the claim by the UN that 110 civilians were killed in the attack was rejected by the Defence Headquarters.

Also recall that Legit.ng reported that presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, partially blamed the victims.

However, Shehu apologised to Nigerians following the backlash that followed his statement which has been described as lacking in empathy.

In another report, President Muhammadu Buhari came under fire from Nigerians over the increased insecurity across the country, especially in the northern region.

Citizens on Sunday, November 29, lamented over the frequent kidnapping, and killings by bandits, Boko Haram insurgents, accusing the president of failing to keep the people safe.

This is coming hours after suspected Boko Haram insurgents killed 43 farmers on rice fields in Borno state.
