Grammy 2021: Singer Femi Kuti speaks on having 5 nominations

- Kuti, however, added that his father, Fela, would be disappointed if winning a Grammy was his objective as a musician

Popular Nigerian singer and saxophonist, Femi Kuti, has spoken on being nominated for Grammy awards five times.
The Sorry Sorry crooner in a post shared on Twitter said he had been nominated for the Grammys on several occasions and added that he might win one day.
Femi who is the son of Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, however, added that if winning a Grammy was his objective as a musician, his late father might be disappointed.
Further in the post, the musician explained his dedication to his craft and how he practised his instruments every day. He said he puts in about five to six hours on his instruments daily while finding inner peaceful and godly attitudes.
He wrote:
“Five times now. Might win one day. But my father would most likely be very disappointed if that was my objective as a musician. I still put 5-6hrs everyday (practicing my instruments) finding inner peaceful and godly attitudes."

Information on the Grammy.com site, however, shows that the musician has been nominated on four occasions.
In 2002 for Best World Music Album, in 2009 for Best Contemporary World Music Album, in 2011 for World Best Music Album and in 2013 for Best World Music Album.
