Nigerian Navy promotes 203 senior officers to various ranks

The Navy Board has approved the promotions of 203 Naval Officers to various senior ranks in the Nigerian Navy.
The Nation reports that this was contained in a statement, Thursday, November 26, by the director of Naval Information, Commodore Suleman Dahun.
Legit.ng gathers from the breakdown of the new promotion that 122 Lieutenant Commanders were elevated to the rank of Commander while 38 Commanders were promoted to Captain.
Also, 24 Captains were promoted to the Flag Rank of Commodore and 19 Commodores were promoted to the Flag Rank of Rear Admiral.

Speaking on the promotions, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, felicitated with the newly promoted officers and their families.
He charged them to rededicate themselves to their responsibilities and remain loyal to the nation and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.

In another report, the Nigerian Army has carried out a major shake-up in various commands and units and theatres across the nation.
The postings and appointment, according to Sagir Musa, the NA's acting director public relations, were done in the spirit of rekindled patriotism to "reinvigorate the system for greater professional effectiveness and efficiency."
Musa, in a statement, said that the move is a routine and normal exercise approved by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General TY Buratai.
