Talented Nigerian musician, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, recently gained his second Grammy nomination to the joy of fans on social media.
The music star was nominated for the Best Global Music Album category alongside Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar and Tinariwen.
As expected, when the news broke on social media, there was a lot of excitement from Nigerians as they celebrated their African Giant.
Burna Boy has no doubt been known to be a bit dramatic about getting the recognition he deserves and while some people mentioned that even though they knew his character needed a bit of work, his talent was undeniable.
Many other Nigerians were also of the opinion that Burna Boy stood a higher chance of winning the Grammy Award due to the absence of Anjelique Kidjo on the list.
Recall that the music star lost his first ever Grammy nomination to Kidjo and that he was quite shaken by the loss.
This led to him releasing his next album and naming it Twice As Tall.

Taking the stage to accept the award for which she was nominated alongside Burna Boy, she gave a heart-melting acceptance speech in which she hailed the Nigerian music superstar for his musical talent.
Kidjo who started off her speech by dedicating the award to Burna Boy, stated that he is one of the African artistes changing the way Africa as a whole is perceived. Her speech was welcomed with huge applause from the audience.
