Toke Makinwa replies Omokri, says every divorcee has survived something
- Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa, said that divorce is nothing to shame women for as life happens
- This was in reaction to a statement from Reno Omokri where he shaded "divorced slay queens"
- The entrepreneur stated that every divorced person had gone through a situation before they got to that point
- Toke also said one version of beauty can be celebrated without putting another down

Nigerian media personality and entrepreneur, Toke Makinwa, has always been open about her divorce from ex-husband, Maje Ayida, and her personal life to an extent.
Recently, former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, took a jab at divorced slay queens.
According to him, Maryam Babangida was one of the world’s most beautiful women, and the media needed to project natural beauties like her.
Reno also said the youths needed to know that the idea of beauty was not bleached divorced slay queens, who had enhanced their bodies surgically.
He wrote:
"Maryam Babangida was one of the world’s most beautiful women ever. We need the media to project more natural beauties like Maryam, instead of force-feeding youths ‘stunning’ photos of bleached divorcee slay queens, with surgically enhanced bodies!"

In a reply to him, Toke Makinwa noted that having that kind of thinking at his age was cringeworthy and embarrassing.
She continued by saying that it was people like Reno who made people stay in unhealthy situations till they lost their dignity or lives.
The entrepreneur further said a version of beauty can be celebrated without bringing the other down and he needed to get his nose out of women’s business.

"Wow, at your age? Your wife and kids must be cringing for you, such an embarrassment. “Divorced” is nothing to shame anyone for, life happens. People like you are the reasons why a lot of people stay in unhealthy situations and lose their dignity and In some cases their lives."

Toke conclusively added that divorce was not a crime, and sometimes it was the only option some people had.
