Charly Boy apologises to daughter after she called him a pretender

- Veteran Nigerian singer and activist, Charly Boy, has taken to social media to apologise to one of his daughters, Dominic ‘Dewy’ Oputa

- The singer asked his daughter for them to go back to the friendship they had been working on

- This came after Dewy had called her father a pretender and clout chaser on social media

Popular Nigerian singer, Charles ‘Charly Boy’ Oputa, has finally apologised to one of his daughters, Dewy, on social media.

The veteran star penned down a lengthy note on his Instagram page to explain how being a parent was not an easy task and that the journey of parenthood is an emotional rollercoaster.

He added that he became a parent like most people who knew nothing about it but tried to learn everything.

The singer apologised about a post he had earlier made on social media about Dewy’s fondness for fellow women and how he was proud of her for it.

In his apology post, Charly Boy promised to allow Dewy tell her story and that he respected and understood her perspective.

An excerpt from his post reads:

“My darling, I promise to allow you tell your story like I have been able to tell mine. I respect your perspectives and I understand. I brought you all up as Global Kids and not as timid village champions.

Let’s just go back to the friendship we have been working on.

I love you and no one can contest, not even you.

This is coming after Dewy accused her father of being a pretender and a clout chaser on social media.

In the series of tweets she shared, the young lady stated that the statements he made online reeked of pure hypocrisy, and the attention he sought was to feed his ego.

Dewy also mentioned that way back in 2017, she almost became homeless as her father sent her out of the house, and did not care if she was dead or alive.
