Unknown gunmen attack Reps member’s residence, kidnap 2 in Katsina state

- Another kidnapping incident has occurred in the northern part of Nigeria

- About two people went missing after gunmen attacked the residence of a lawmaker

A report by Daily Trust indicates that two people were allegedly abducted after unknown gunmen attacked the residence of a member, House of representatives, Abubakar Yahaya Kusada.

The incident was said to have occurred on Saturday night, November 21, at the lawmaker's Kusada residence.

Kusada is a former speaker, Katsina state House of Assembly and current member of the House of Representatives representing Kusada, Kankia and Ingawa federal constituency in Katsina state.

A source speaking to the news publication stated that the unidentified assailants attacked the residence around 1 am and took two house helps, a woman identified as Talatu, and a young man named Suleiman.

Another source narrating the incident explained that the gunmen first asked about the politician’s mother before abducting the two victims both of who are the lawmaker's close family members.

Legit.ng recalls that Alhaji Lawal Dako, a chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina state, was killed by some suspected bandits.

Dako who is the chairman of Sabuwa local government area was shot five times by the gunmen on Sunday, November 8.

The 60-year-old chairman died at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria on Friday, November 20, from injuries he sustained during the attack at the council.

In a related development, Philip Shekwor, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state, was found dead.

A source close to the family and a leader of the APC in Nasarawa confirmed Shekwor's death.
