The governor announced the sacking of the aides on Saturday, November 21, in a statement issued by Kenneth Ugbala, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Premium Times, citing NAN, reported that the statement instructed the disengaged officials to hand over all government property in their possession to the SSG before the close of work on Monday, November 23.
The secretary disclosed that the names of the sacked officials include:
1.Cletus Ogbonna
2. John Osi
3. Tochukwu Ali
4. Olachi Arua
Ugbala further stated that the governor sacked some aides from Ohaukwu Local Government Area (LGA). He said the decision was taken in order to ensure greater participation of Ebonyi people in governance.
He said the affected officials included all LGA development centre coordinators, executive assistants, senior technical assistants, technical assistants, liaison officers and management committee members of development centres.
Meanwhile, Umahi has disclosed the reasons why he believes the five years administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is far better than the 16 years that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) controlled the federal government.
The Ebonyi state governor who recently defected from the PDP to the APC on Friday, November 20, said his state has benefited more under the current ruling party.
He also praised the way the party runs its affairs, claiming that the APC is not under the control of a single person, Channels TV reported.
In another news, the former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has reacted to the defection of Umahi from the PDP to the APC.
The Nation reports that he said he would never jump ship like some politicians who were bereft of political ideology, describing those indulging in such act as “political robbers
Fayose said Governor Umahi had defected to APC long ago before his "unjustifiable" move, adding that the defection clearly has nothing to do with the interest of the Igbo nation.
