One more governor will leave PDP, says Wike after Umahi's defection

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has said one more governor will leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Channels TV reports that Governor Wike made this known on Wednesday, November 18, as part of his reaction to the defection of Governor David Umahi to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said:
“I can tell you, there is one PDP governor that will leave."
Governor Wike, however, declined to give the name of the governor or when he will leave the party.
Governor Wike's reaction to Umahi's defection
Governor Wike has told his Ebonyi state's counterpart, Umahi, to stop blackmailing the PDP and spreading falsehood in order to justify his defection.
The Rivers state governor said contrary to the injustice claim made by Umahi as a reason for his defection, he joined the APC for a presidential bid.
The Rivers governor said Umahi's defection was not a surprise because he has been romancing with the ruling party prior to the official declaration.

What President Buhari said about Governor Umahi's defection
President Muhammadu Buhari has also reacted to the defection of Ebonyi state governor, Umahi, to the ruling APC.
The president who commended Governor Umahi described his defection a bold move which was mainly driven by principles.
This was contained in the statement released on Wednesday, November 18, by the president's senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu.
In another report, the national caretaker committee of the APC has dissolved the party's working committee in Ebonyi state.
A statement released on Wednesday, November 18, by the deputy national publicity secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena, indicates that the party took the action following the refusal of factions to withdraw court cases.
