Kamala Harris appreciates black women for voting in last US election

- The projected new vice president-elect of America, Kamala Harris, has appreciated the efforts of black women in the 2020 US presidential election

- Kamala said the victory of the Democratic Party would not have been possible without their inputs

- The vice president-elect's post received mixed reactions as some tweeps said that she failed to acknowledge other races

The projected American vice president-elect, Kamala Harris, on Monday, November 9, spoke to black women in the US.

In a Twitter post, she thanked them as she said black women have often been despised despite the repeated calls for them to push the nation’s democracy forward.

Kamala explained that the victory she and projected president-elect, Joe Biden, secured at the poll could not have been possible without their help.

As at the time of writing this report, her post has got over 9,000 comments with close to 500,000 likes as people in their thousands engaged the post.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, Kamala's husband Doug Emhoff will become the first male spouse of a vice president in the United States after her swearing-in ceremony.

He will become the first second gentleman of the United States. Doug was born to Jewish parents in the New York City borough of Brooklyn on October 13, 1964.
