Master KG wins again: Musician scoops prestigious MTV EMA award

Master KG has once again flown the South African flag high across international waters by winning himself an MTV European Music Award on Sunday, November 9. The Jerusalema hitmaker thanked his fans from all over the world for the incredible support.
The hit track won an award for the Best African act, beating out South African duo DJ Maphorisa and Kabza de Small, Nigeria's Burna Boy, Uganda songstress Sheebah and Gaz Mawete of the DRC. Master shared a video message to express his gratitude.
He said:
“I would love to thank each and every person out there, all over the world, for making this possible. I would love to thank my sister (collaborator Nomcebo Zikode), my team at Open Mic Productions. Everyone who is behind Master KG, thank you guys so much! To my fans all around the world, without you I don't think this would be possible.”
As it stands, the Jerusalema track is still making waves across the world. The song has been played more than 200 million times on YouTube. The remix with Burna Boy was also recently certified diamond in France.

South Africa's Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, also took to social media to praise the singer and acknowledge the massive achievement.
He said:
"Your patriotism shall go down in the annals of history. Continue to pick up the fallen spears of your predecessors in representing our motherland in such a unifying and unprecedented manner"
Social media users flooded the musician with congratulatory messages as well. Twitter user ZealSmafo said:

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a video of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood dancing to the popular Jerusalema song in Tanzania was spotted online.
A former Miss Nigeria Russia, Dr Cherry Adannaya Osigwe, shared the video on her official Instagram page. According to the beauty queen, dancing to the Jerusalema song is a delightful way to start up the month of November which she described as amazing.
