Dino Melaye reveals how McDonald's franchise made him successful

The former lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district at the upper chamber, Senator Dino Melaye, has said he was not born with a silver spoon.
The politician, who made the disclosure in an interview with BBC Pidgin, said life became a living hell for his family while he was growing up after his father was sacked from Kano civil service.
He said he started fending for himself and his family by breeding goats and selling their offspring, adding that he was able to obtain JAMB form from the proceed of the venture.

The ex-lawmaker said reading books really helped him because he got to know that the most successful men in history where people whose parents were poor.
He stated that while he was in school, he would always engage in menial jobs to keep supporting himself and his family.
According to Melaye, success began to flood in for him after buying a McDonald's franchise during a recession in the United States.
He said he bought the franchise $350,000, adding that the latter has given birth to seven other franchises. According to Melaye, his profit after tax today is $1.2 million (N458,400,000).
The politician, who also revealed how he ventured into real estate, said apart from the hard work that brought him to where he is today, God has been merciful to him.
He added that his ambition is to become Nigeria's president.

Legit.ng previously reported that Senator Melaye said youths and women in his community prevented hoodlums from attacking his house in Kogi state.
Senator Melaye made the disclosure on Twitter and shared a video of the house in Aiyetoro Gbede being surrounded by security agents and some youths of the community.
