Judge waives sentence for lady, asks her to vote instead
- A US judge, Carlos Moore, has withheld judgment on the case of an 18-year-old lady, telling her to go vote instead
- Carlos said that the teenager could also get leniency if she can write a good essay on the importance of voting
- The gracious judge also had legal mercy on a 17-year-old boy, saying if he improves academically, he would not face the wrath of the law

An American judge, Carlos Moore, has explored a system of alternative sentencing and many people are praising him for it.
In a LinkedIn post, the judge said that instead of sentencing an 18-year-old lady for a speeding ticket, he would let her go scot-free if she comes back with proof that she voted in the presidential election on Tuesday, November 3.
As an option to that, Carlos said that the lady could also be given a break if she could write a 5-word essay on the significance of voting.

That was not all, the judge also extended his mercy to a 17-year-old who was in the court for a misdemeanour. Carlos said if the teenager could make a B in his next exams, he will hold back ruling on his case.
The kind judge said:
“Our young people are our greatest treasure and if I can encourage them to be their best and do their best I’m happy.”
His post has generated more than 121,000 likes and over 6,000 comments as at the time of writing this report.
