Pep Guardiola who is the current gaffer of Premier League side Manchester City has reportedly been linked with a return to Spanish giants Barcelona so as for the club to fulfill Messi's wish.
Barcelona are currently without a president following the resignation of Josep Bartomeu and his board following a troubled filled season.
Last season, Barcelona failed to win any title in all competitions and the Catalans also suffered an embarrassing defeat in the Champions League against Bayern Munich.
That defeat led to the sacking of Setien at the Nou Camp in which Barcelona hired former star defender Ronald Koeman as new gaffer.
But before the start of the ongoing League season, Barcelona board had serious issue with Lionel Messi who wanted to leave with Manchester City reported as likely destination.
Although Bartomeu was able to convince Lionel Messi to stay at Barcelona for another season, but that does not stop the Spaniard from resigning as president.
According to the report on Express UK, Victor Font who is the presidential front-runner wants Pep Guardiola to return to Barcelona so as for Messi to sign a new deal.
Guardiola who won 14 trophies in a four-year spell in charge at Barcelona between 2008 and 2012, sees his contract at Manchester City expire at the end of this season.
