The governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, has ordered full reopening of religious centres, businesses, hotels and other entertainment centres in the state.
Recall that the governor had closed religious centres, businesses and schools in March in a bid to check the spread of the novel coronavirus disease.
In August, he announced the reopening of only worship centres and schools subject to guidelines of the safety measures.
He reduced worshippers for a service at 200 and insisted services must not exceed one and a half hour.
However, in a statement on Wednesday, October 28, by his chief press secretary, Kunle Somorin, Governor Dapo said the religious centres and other public places have been reopened following the relative success recorded in checking the deadly virus.
The Ogun state government had also earlier directed schools in the state to resume academic activities from Monday, October 26.
The announcement was made via Twitter by Somorin, a spokesperson to Governor Abiodun.
Somorin said the government decided to allow the resumption of schools after organisers of the #EndSARS protests suspended protests in the state.
