A herdsmen group, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has accused former Lagos governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, of sponsoring the #EndSARS protests.

The #EndSARS protest was organised by Nigerian youths asking the federal government to scrap the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigeria police due to the atrocities committed by members of the unit.

The youth also called for a total reform of the police structure and compensation for the victims of the brutality.

While the Nigerian government has disbanded SARS, the protesters said other items on the list of their demands are yet to be attended to.

However, Miyetti Allah, in a report by The Sun claimed that some politicians from the southern part of the country, including Tinubu, are behind the nationwide protests.

The group alleged that the plan is to undermine and overthrow the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and also intimidate the north ‘to give up its rights to rule beyond 2023.’

Legit.ng gathers that this was contained in a statement jointly signed by the group's president and Secretary of the organisation, Alhaji Bello Bodejo and Alhasan Saleh, respectively.

The herdsmen group questioned why the youths would continue to protest and disrupt after their demand for the disbandment of SARS had been granted.

Tinubu's spokesman, Tunde Rahman, has, however, described the allegations as false, adding that they should be disregarded by Nigerians.

He said the APC leader could not have sponsored the #EndSARS protest that has blocked one of the main entries into and out of Lagos and one of the economic arteries of the Lagos state government.

Rahman further noted that Tinubu could not have sponsored a protest where he too has been labelled a target by the organisers.
