- A building has collapsed in Eti-Osa local government area of Lagos state

- With this, Lagos has just experienced another one in a string of building collapse disasters

Another building has collapsed in Lagos state. This time, the sad incident occurred at Obalende, Eti-Osa local government area of the state.

Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, director-general of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA) the one-story building partially collapsed, PM News reports.

He said the building was under construction when it partially collapsed.

He said:

“The attention of the Agency has been brought to a building under construction at the above mentioned address which has partially collapsed. The emergency response plan has been activated and all responders are enroute the scene.

Meanwhile, residents are to remain calm and keep away from the area.

Recall that it was a narrow escape for some residents of a part of the highly populated Ojuelegba area of Lagos as a two-storey building collapsed late Thursday, October 24.

Legit.ng reported that the building collapsed at 8.55 pm just 12 days after a similar occurrence involving a three-storey building at Magodo Phase 1 in the state.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported that in another building collapse in Nigeria, about five people have reportedly lost their lives as an unfortunate incident occurred in Aba, Abia state.

One person who was rescued from the rubble is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

Sources disclosed that the sad incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, September 16, after torrential rain.

In another development, Legit.ng reported that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved projects worth a total of N109,187,264,000 for the ministry of works and housing and the ministry of education.

It was reported that the projects were approved during the FEC meeting held on Wednesday, July 8. The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari as Fashola and minister Adamu Adamu presented three memoranda.
