EFCC vs Adeherself: First witness presented against Instagram skit maker

Sensational Instagram skit maker Rukayat Adedamola Adewale aka Adeherself may have regained her freedom from the custody of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) but the young lady is still battling a fraud-related case.
Just recently, the anti-graft agency through a post shared on Instagram gave an update in the ongoing trial of the social media celebrity.
According to reports on the official EFCC website, a first prosecution witness, Samuel Orie, who works as a compliance officer at the Guaranty Trust Bank, was brought against Adeherself.
The IG skit maker was re-arraigned in court on Wednesday, October 7, for her role in alleged cybercrime before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.
The witness presented documents showing the statement of account of the defendant which were made available by the bank upon the commission’s request.
Justice Sholebo adjourned the case to October 26, 2020, for the continuation of trial.

Recall that months ago, Legit.ng reported that Adeherself took to social media to address her fans after she was released from custody.
The 20-year-old skit maker admitted that things have not been easy for her after her arrest and that she has been trying her best not to fall into depression. Aeherself lady thanked her parents and manager for organising a counselling session for her all the way from the US.
