Popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke aka Davido may be much loved for his free-spirited personality on social media but the music star also knows when to draw the line for overreaching fans.
Just recently, a Twitter user identified as Fola (@manlikefola_) made an unsavoury joke about Davido being the cause of singer Rema’s Twitter meltdown.
Fola in his false tweet claimed that Davido slapped the singer at the venue of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) grand finale where they were both billed to perform.
The tweet had gotten mixed reactions from members of the internet community and some people had even started pointing accusatory fingers at Davido.
However, shortly after sharing the tweet, Fola returned to retract his words and submit that he was simply joking.

Reacting to the apology, Davido noted that the individual’s action was unfair as a lot of people truly believed what he had initially tweeted.
He also added that celebrities are also humans just like anyone else.

“People should honestly stop joking on this street. We are all humans and have feelings. Stop joking around and hurting people, and then come back to say ‘small play’. It’s absolutely wrong.”
