Lagos governor Sanwo-Olu gives 51 SUVs, 8 houses to state judges

Lagos goverment has distributed 51 Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to the state judges in a gesture aimed towards helping the state judiciary to perform its functions.
Distributing the cars to the judges on Wednesday, September 23, at the Ikeja high court, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated that it is the vision of his government to build a working relationship with the judiciary system.
The governor, who also presented eight houses to the jurists, explained that effective executive-judiciary relationship will bring balance to the government.
Sanwo-Olu also promised that the judiciary system in Lagos state will be massively supported by the government in order to ensure fast delivery of justice, adding that the bench is the "bedrock of the society."
The governor said:
“In handing over these 51 vehicles to our judges and eight houses to the newly appointed judges of the state high court, we are ensuring that our judiciary has all it takes to seamlessly perform its duties as the bastion of the common man.
“We cherish the work you do; we thank you for justifying the confidence reposed in you; we appreciate you for being independent umpires even when the stakes are high."

In a related report, the Sanwo-Olu-led administration inaugurated new governing councils for the state-owned institutions on Wednesday, August 26.
Speaking after the event through a statement on his Twitter page, Governor Sanwo-Olu said it is a dream and priority of his government to bring reform agenda aimed at transforming tertiary institutions in Lagos state into innovation centres.
The schools with the newly sworn-in councils are Lagos State University (LASU) and Lagos State Polytechnic (LSPOTECH), Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED).
