Boko Haram: Governor Zulum consoles widow of Colonel Dahiru Bako, gives her N20m

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state has condoled with the widow of Col. Dahiru Bako who was recently killed in an ambush by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.
The deceased's patrol team entered an ambush at about 10 am on Sunday, September 20, while carrying out his duty.
The governor visited Bako's widow on Wednesday, September 23.
According to Nigerian Army, Zulum was received by the acting general officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General AK Ibrahim at the Command Guest House, Maiduguri.
The governor expressed his deepest sympathy to the widow while describing the late senior officer as a fallen hero who was a great patriot and formidable commander.
He consequently prayed for the repose of his soul.
The governor also presented a Cheque of N20 million to the late colonel’s widow.
He also donated N2 million each to the family of the other three soldiers who died alongside Colonel Bako as a result of an ambush attack.
Going further, the Borno governor reassured Mrs Bako of his promise to redeem his pledge of providing the late senior officer’s family with a house.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Senator Ali Ndume, a lawmaker representing Borno South in the Senate, mourned the late commander of the Sector 2 Military Command.
In a statement released on Tuesday, September 22, Ndume who is the chairman of the Senate committee on Nigerian Army, eulogised the late colonel for being a patriotic Nigeria.
The lawmaker said Bako would be dearly missed, and would not be forgotten for his sacrifice in the effort to get rid of terrorism and banditry from the northeast of the country.
