The deputy governor of Ondo state, Ajayi Agboola, has accused his boss, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of frustrating his gubernatorial campaign.
Agboola is contesting the position of the Ondo state chief executive under the Zenith Labour Party, having failed to get the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Allen Sowore, the deputy governor said his party was denied access to using a government facility to flag off his campaign.

Part of the statement read: “Let be it known that the Zenith Labour Party applied for the usage of the M.K.O Abiola democracy park, Akure to flag off its campaign rally.
“After the successful completion of all due process, the agency responsible, acting on the instruction of Ondo state governor deliberately hiked the price from the original N5 million.
“Even at that, the ZLP was ready to pay the N11 million charged, but the official in charge disappeared.”
Meanwhile, Primate Elijah Ayodele has predicted that Governor Akeredolu will be betrayed by some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ayodele stated that the governor will face a big hurdle as some people in APC will throw their weight behind Ajayi.
In a related development, the governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal, has stated that the credibility or otherwise of the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states will go a long way in defining President Muhammadu Buhari's electoral legacy.
The Sokoto state governor also stressed the urgent need to strengthen the nation’s electoral process in order to restore the hope and aspirations of Nigerians in democracy.
According to him, any electoral victory obtained other than through the legitimate votes of the people is nothing short of a coup d’etat.
Recall that Bola Tinubu, national leader of the APC, recently declared that the opposition would not be given any chance during the forthcoming Ondo guber election.
The former Lagos state governor also added that the PDP is dead in the state, stressing that the party will be finally nailed in a coffin during the election.
