Lionel Messi could be making one of the craziest headlines in this world if he consider joining Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
The fans of the German top division club have rallied around to make an ambition bid for the Barcelona star who wants to leave the Camp Nou this summer.
Messi's release clause is pegged at $1billion after La Liga ruled in favor of La Blaugrana, meaning the 33-year-old will not be leaving for free.
But supporters of Stuttgart have set their sights on raising to finance the superstar wages if he decides to play in Germany.
On the other hand, Stuttgart finished third bottom of the Bundesliga last season and narrowly avoided relegation by winning their play off game to stay afloat.
A statement on the GoFundMe page states: “We VfB fans are collecting money to pay for Lionel Messi's transfer. In the event that the planned amount is not reached on time or Lionel Messi joins another club, 100% of the money raised will be donated to Viva con Agua.”
Stuttgart's main stars are Orel Mangala, Nicolas Gonzalez and Silas Wamangitukaand they will be more than happy to play alongside Messi.
