A popular Nigerian preacher, Bishop David Oyedepo has said he would lay his hands and breathe into any COVID-19 patient brought to him for prayer.
Oyedepo who is the founder and presiding bishop of the Living Faith Chapel made the statement during one of the church’s services, Covenant Hour of Prayer (CHoP), The Cable reported.
“Can you imagine anyone bringing coronavirus patient to me and I won’t lay hands on him? Will I wear gloves to lay hands on them?

“I will lay hands on them; breathe into them; embrace them. What you carry is eternal life, it’s not human life. You should know that,” he was quoted saying.
Another newspaper, PM News, reported that the preacher said he would not wear gloves to do so but would lay his bare hands on the patient to receive healing.
The cleric also faulted people who wear hand gloves and face masks to protect themselves from contracting the virus, wondering why they do not usually do the same while eating.
He reportedly said the devil is trying to dehumanize humanity with the COVID-19, but noted that as a preacher, his mandate is to liberate human beings from all harassment of the devil.
Despite Oyedepo’s claim, there’s currently no proven evidence that the killer virus can be cured through laying of hands.
In another news, the general overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua, has said a couple that contracted COVID-19 was healed by a man of God simply identified as Prophet Chris.

He said Prophet Chris prayed for the couple in the name of Jesus and they testified that they had been healed.
Meanwhile, Prophet TB Joshua, has responded to the reopening of churches order by the Lagos state government.
In a message addressed primarily to his church members on Wednesday, August 5, the clergyman said that though the move by the government is a commendable one to reopen churches on Sunday, August 9, it will not do so until he hears from God
TB Joshua assured his followers that as soon as God speaks, he will let them known when physical services are to resume.
