Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom have welcomed their first child, daughter Daisy Dove.
Katy, 35, and Orlando, 43, announced the news of the arrival of their baby via a statement released by UNICEF. The two celebrities are the organisation's goodwill ambassadors.
"We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," the excited couple said.
The couple, "as parents to a newborn", also empathised with other parents who're struggling due to the Covid-19.
"But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was."
They expressed that they know that UNICEF is on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare.
"In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. By supporting UNICEF, you are supporting a safe start to life and re-imagining a healthier world for every child."
The celebrity couple also shared a sweet black and white photo of them holding onto their daughter's tiny hand.
Daily Mail reports that daisies hold a special significance for the couple. Orlando proposed with an ornate daisy engagement ring on Valentine's Day 2019.
