For being diligent in their duty, 10 newly promoted senior police officers at the force headquarters, Abuja, have been decorated by the inspector-general of police, M.A Adamu.
IGP Adamu consequently urged them to deploy their intellect and demonstrate sound professional judgement in all their decisions at all times.
Secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, also attended the ceremony.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to see the promotion as a call for improved services to the nation.
Going further, he said the federal government is committed to the ongoing reforms of the Nigeria Police Force by the IGP.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Police Service Commission (PSC) dismissed 10 police officers and reduced the rank of eight others over various cases of misconduct in the line of duty.
It was reported that this was contained in a statement in Abuja on Monday, July 6, by the commission’s head, press and public relations, Ikechukwu Ani.

He explained that the commission took the decision at its eighth plenary meeting which spanned three weeks.
He added that the commission also approved the punishment of severe reprimand for 16 officers.
He explained further that the commission also looked into 83 disciplinary cases which included 18 appeals and petitions.
In another report, the Katsina police command said findings have shown the explosion that occurred in Malumfashi town was caused by a military grenade.
The spokesperson for the command, Gambo Isah, said the grenade was found by some children on a farm.
He disclosed that the grenade exploded after the children fiddled with it. Isah said those injured in the blast have been taken to the hospital while the dead have been buried.
The blast victims were buried on Saturday evening, July 18, according to Islamic rites.
