Chief of staff to Plateau governor contracts COVID-19

Another top politician in Nigeria, Noel Donjur, who serves as the chief of staff to the plateau state governor, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The plateau state commissioner for information and communication, Dan Manjang, said the COVID-19 result of the chief of staff was confirmed after a test that was conducted for members of the state executive council on July 1, 2020.

According to the commissioner, all other members of the state executive council tested negative except the chief of staff.

He said Noel Donjur has commenced treatment in one of the isolation centres in Jos the state capital.

The chief of staff has called on members of the public to pray for him and has also encouraged people to submit to COVID-19 testing.

Meanwhile, tears flowed freely on Friday, July 3, in Ondo state as the remains of the late commissioner of health, Wahab Adegbenro, were interred in his home town in Ilara-Mokin according to Islamic rites.

Vanguard reported that sympathisers trooped to late Adegbenro's family house where he was buried.

Legit.ng gathered that a huge crowd of sympathizers gathered to witness the Adegbenro's burial.

Adegbenro died on Thursday, July 2, at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, a town in Ondo state. According to the report, officials conducting the burial were kitted according to COVID-19 protocols.
