Thunderstorm kills three FRSC officials during parade

- According to report, the thunder struck while the FRSC officials were planning for the early morning parade

Three officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) died mysteriously after a flash of thunder lightning occurred in their office at the early hours of Wednesday in Ilese area of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that incident occurred about 10.00 a.m. when a prolong rain accompanied by thunder occurred at the FRSC premises in Old Toll Gate area of Ilese town in Ijebu North East Local Government of Ogun.

It was gathered that the thunderstruck while the FRSC officials were planning for the early morning parade.

When contacted, the state FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, told NAN on the phone that he would give full details of what happened on Thursday.

He said he had visited the unit command at Ijebu Ode but would respond accordingly on Thursday.

It was gathered that men of the state’s special security outfit code-named “OP MESA” have taken over security of the entire premises.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Prophetess Olayinka Ayodele, the founder of the Mountain of Light of the World Church Inc. C&S, during the church's annual thanksgiving spoke passionately about the state of the nation.

The church’s founder stressed the need for the country’s citizens to come close to God in the face of the nation’s pressing political and socio-economic challenges.

She also said that Nigeria’s leaders should emulate God’s mercy in dealing with the diverse plights the masses are going through, adding that suffering awaits the nation without the fear of Almighty.

Her husband, Apostle Adebayo Ayodele, put the direct blame of the nation’s many challenges on the sins that are in the land, adding that people must repent.

Like his wife, he also said that issues like kidnapping, killing, financial corruption are happening because people do things without considering God.

“The land is polluted with bloodshed, theft, immorality, banditry, and kidnapping etc because of lack of fear of God.

"The country is good, the only thing that is bad in Nigeria is the crop of leaders we have today. Many are saying Nigeria will, but I will tell nothing of such will happen, we are in the dire situation because the leaders failed to lead with the fear of God," he said.
