Abiola Ajimobi, the officially recognised actional national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken some starting moves to save the ruling party from sudden disintegration.
Through the deputy vice-chairman (South-South), Hillary Eta, Ajimobi on Wednesday, June 17, reversed the cancellation of the screening committee carried out by Victor Giadom, a self-acclaimed acting national chairman in place of Adams Oshiomhole.
Moreover, the Ajimobi-led APC has appointed Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo as the chairman of the Edo state governorship primary election.
Reacting to Giadom's earlier move, the APC's National Working Committee (NWC) said he is not a member of the committee since his resignation of the position in a bid to contest as Rivers deputy governor in 2019.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that some security operatives on Wednesday, June 17, took over the national secretariat of the APC in Abuja.
It was gathered that the agents took over the building in anticipation of the breakdown of law and order over the court ruling that upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the party's national chairman.
The security agents who are located inside and outside the secretariat arrived at the party headquarters in the early hours in two Hilux Patrol vehicles. They also stopped journalists covering the ruling party from gaining access to the premises.

While this was going on, Legit.ng also reported that the APC's vice-chairman, south-south, Prince Hilliard Eta, had declared himself the new acting national chairman of the ruling party.
Eta, from Cross River state, said he was taking over the reins of the party as confusion over the authentic leader of the party continues.
After announcing himself as the party national chairman, Eta appointed Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma as the Edo primary election chairman.
