It was with great sadness that fans all over the world received the news of the death of legendary Nigerian reggae musician, Majekodunmi Fasheke also known as Majek Fashek.

The Rainmaker, as the singer is also fondly called by fans, kicked the bucket on June 1, 2020.

Many fans of the late music star expressed their grief at the news as they shared condolence message.

Nigeria’s minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, also reacted to the news of the late singer’s death through a statement.

According to Mohammed, Majek’s death was a great loss to Nigeria’s creative industry. He also expressed his condolences to the late singer’s family and prayed for God to grant him peaceful rest.

According to Uzoma, he received a call around 11:45pm on June 1, 2020, informing him of the singer’s death. Prior to the singer’s demise, he was very strong and having fun and they were even surprised where his strength came from.
