The road to success is not an easy one and nothing in this life is assured. Such is the case of many celebrities, who after attaining fame suffer a setback and find it hard to get back on their feet.
Despite the fact that some of these stars never attain success after their setback, some others are blessed to be able to revive their career.
Such is the case of veteran Nigerian singer, Daddy Showkey, who was quite popular and known for his music all over the country in the 90s.
During a recent IG live video with a friend, the singer recounted what led to him taking a long break from the entertainment scene and all the things he was going through at the time.
According to Showkey, he suffered a ghastly car crash in 2007 when he rammed his car into a trailer on his way back from another singer, Olu Maintain’s birthday party.
Showkey said that he was bedridden at a hospital abroad for three years and that when he got back, many of his friends abandoned him and started to avoid him.
The singer then said that he had to drop his pride to be able to fend for his family and that he travelled to Warri in Delta state where he learnt a trade and was being paid salary by his boss.
