Oyemykke reveals what beating does to a child, says they cannot be great (video)

Instagram celebrity Abisoye Olukoya Michael popularly called Oyemykke has made a case against the popular act of beating in Africa.
Oyemykke said this in reaction to the viral video of the Zambian father beating his son for failing in school. The media commentator said that beating a child or anyone is called domestic violence.
According to him, if people knew the adverse effect of beating a child, they would stop it.
"No child that was ever beaten reached their full potential. You could think that the child turned out great but that child probably could be better," he said.

Oyemykke said that beating creates fear in the mind of people. According to him, this is why Nigerians cannot challenge their leaders who are treating them badly.
"Why do you think we have over 200 million people who cannot voice out all their lives? They have told them to fear," he said.

In another video he made, Oyemykke said that nobody is roaming the streets because their mother did not beat them. A bad child will always be one.
"Beating a child has never really stopped them. You can correct the child, you can beat him and stop him but that is not the answer," he stated.

In other news, Legit.ng earlier reported that BBNaija's Uriel Oputa reacted to a viral video of an angry father beating son for failing in school.
According to her, beating a child is very bad. The reality TV star said that the aggrieved man could have handled the situation better than he did. She stated that children are gifted in different ways while adding that the teenager could be dyslexic.
The BBNaija star has always been open about dealing with dyslexia, hence, her suggestion. According to her, she had a problem assimilating whatever was taught. The BBNaija star went ahead to note that beating a child will not make him smarter.
