Coronavirus: 8-year-old girl writes Buhari as she donates N2,350 for fight against disease

- An eight-year-old girl has joined other Nigerians donating money for the country's fight against coronavirus

An eight-year-old girl has written a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari after donating N2,350 - all the money she has in her piggy bank - for Nigeria's fight against coronavirus.

The disclosure was made on Wednesday, April 1, by the president's personal assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad.

This is coming at a time entrepreneurs and philanthropists are donating billions of naira to help battle the pandemic.

In other news, a day after donating N1 billion for the fight against coronavirus in Nigeria, billionaire businesswoman Folorunsho Alakija donated N25,000 to each of her foundation's registered widows and orphans in the six geopolitical zones in the country.

The money was donated to cushion the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on the beneficiaries.

The foundation, Rose of Sharon Foundation, made the disclosure on its official Twitter page on Tuesday, March 31.

The billionaire businesswoman also announced the donation on her official LinkedIn page.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir Kesington Adebutu donated the sum of N300 million to the Lagos state government for the fight against coronavirus in the state.

The businessman described the donation as his own way of helping the state in bringing succour to those who are down with the disease.

Kesington commended the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in bringing succour to coronavirus patients in the state.

A letter written to the state government read: “On behalf of myself, my entire family and organisation, we commend the dynamic efforts of Your Excellency in bringing succour to the sufferers of COVID-19 in the state.
