The coronavirus pandemic has indeed shook the world to its very core as whole countries have been shut down and religious as well as social gatherings have been suspended.
The coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19, reportedly started in Wuhan, China, but it has now spread to all but one continent in the world with the death rate in some countries even being higher than where the virus originated from.
A lot of Africans were initially feeling invisible to the virus because it took a while for cases to be reported. However, things have gone south quickly with some countries already recording hundreds of cases.

A number of gist and false speculations have started to make the rounds concerning the virus and popular personalities on social media and some of them have addressed it.
Nigerian media personality, IK Osakioduwa, has taken to social media to react to false reports that he is down with the virus after allegedly returning from the UK.
IK shared a video of himself with his family and said that he has not been to the UK at all this year and that he is not down with the virus.
In the caption of his post, he wrote: “Lies lies lies! No corona virus here.”.

In other news, Legit.ng reported on more details about a Nigerian celebrity who attended the recently held Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) and was also showing signs of having coronavirus.
A lady identified on Twitter as Ifeoma Chukwuogo (@Fizzy Thatcher) warned people who attended the event to self-isolate and watch themselves for some days.
Another popular blogger, Stella Dimoko-Korkus, also corroborated the claims. According to her, the person is a popular photographer and he has also advised people to stay quarantined till he gets his result to confirm his status.
