Coronavirus affects only rich people - Nigerian man says
- An unnamed Nigerian man has said that coronavirus does not affect poor people
- The man said that he heard that the pandemic affects only rich people
- According to him, the virus affects the people who have money to treat it
One of the ways that the various governments in the world are fighting the coronavirus pandemic is by providing correct information about the deadly infection. Information on how people can avoid contracting the disease and what to do if they notice any symptoms is available on the internet.
Despite this, some people still have some incorrect perception about the virus.
Recently, a Legit.ng correspondent went out to speak with some residents in Abuja about the pandemic virus and one of the respondents confidently said that coronavirus only affects rich people.
The unidentified man said that the deadly virus does not affect poor people because they do not have the money to treat it. The man compared the lifestyle of the rich and poor, noting that the rich are more vulnerable to the disease.
“I don’t receive AC. I walk under the sun from morning till evening. We are very strong, so, I’m not afraid of coronavirus,” the man told Legit.ng.
The unnamed man attributed the pandemic to bad leadership but maintained his stance about the pandemic affecting rich people.
According to him, if the rich are affected, the problem will be solved immediately unlike the poor who do not have the resources to manage such illness.
“If it affects any of those at the National Assembly, you’ll see that they’ll do something quickly about it but if it’s someone like me, they won’t even talk,” he said.
