Recruitment: Navy commences 2020 exercise for employment

- The Nigerian Navy has revealed its readiness to employ capable citizens of the country into the command

- This was made public by Commodore Suleman Dahun, the director Naval information, on Tuesday, March 10

- The recruitment exercise which is to commence on Wednesday, March 11, will be concluded on Tuesday, April 21

The Nigerian Navy on Tuesday, March 10, opened its online registration portal for the 2020 recruitment exercise.

In a statement made available to Legit.ng, Commodore Suleman Dahun, the director Naval information, revealed that the recruitment exercise will begin on Wednesday, March 11 and end on Tuesday, April 21.

Dahun instructed interested applicants to visit the website: www.joinnigeriannavy.com and apply only once as multiple application/registration will attract disqualification.

The Navy spokesman said that all applicants are to come to the designated examination centres with print-out of the filled application form alongside the following: declaration and certification by parent/guardian form, local government area certification form, police certification form and guarantor form.

He said that among the requirements for employment are possession of five credits in not more than two sittings in WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB (English and Mathematics inclusive), being between the ages 18-22 years or 18-26 years for those with ND, NCE, Nurses and Motor Transport Department (MTD) respectively.

Dahun added that applicants must be Nigerian in national, single and should not be less than 1.69m tall for males and 1.65m for females.

In his warning, he stated any applicant who falsifies their documents will be handed over to law enforcement agencies when caught.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the list of successful candidates of the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 27 aptitude test in the Nigerian Navy had been released.

According to Dahun who broke the news on Friday, December 20, in Abuja, the candidates are to check for their names on this website: www.joinnigeriannavy.com.

In his statement, Dahun directed the candidates to report at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Navy Town, Ojo, Lagos state from Friday, December 27 to Friday, January 10, 2020 for interview.

Dahun stressed that the interview is free of charge and that the candidates should beware of scammers that might try to fraudulently extract money from them through online means.

The Navy spokesperson added that the candidates are to arrive at the venue with the following documents: Original and photocopies of academic certificates and credentials including, first school leaving certificate.
