Former governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel's son got married in Lagos

- The wedding was that of mixed religion as the bride is from a Muslim home and the groom a Christian

- The wedding also witnessed the first public meeting of the two past governors of Ogun, Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun with the incumbent, Dapo Abiodun

- Olurotimi and Nefisat's wedding had a lot of the movers and shakers of Nigeria political circle in attendance

It is every parent's dream to see their children get married when they are alive and such a dream came to past in the life of the former governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, popularly known as OGD.

One of Otunba Daniel's sons, Olurotimi Daniel, got married to his heartthrob, Nefisat Mahmud. The wedding was that of Christian marrying a Muslim and the ceremony was conducted in both ways to accommodate the two religious beliefs of the families joining together as one.

For Nefisat, being from a Muslim background, a wedding Nikkah was necessary and the Daniel gladly participated in the Islamic wedding to solemnised their son and daughter-in-law's union on Friday, March 6.

After the Nikkah, a proper Yoruba traditional wedding was held for the couple by the two families involved.

The groom was accompanied by his friends who were all gaily dressed in the Yorba traditional and could be mistaken for the groom if not for the colour differentiation of the husband-to-be outfit

The traditional wedding which was held in Lekki, Lagos had so many dignitaries in attendance among them was former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi, minister of information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; the senator representing Lagos West, Solomon Adeola, Chief Bode George, Buruji Kashamu, Senator Ben Bruce, Sade Okoya, traditional rulers from Ogun, among other dignitaries.

One of the highlights of the event was the meeting of two former governors of Ogun state, the father of the groom and the immediate past governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun with the sitting governor, Dapo Abiodun. This occasion will be the first time the three are meeting in public after the election that brought Dapo Abiodun to power.

Music was supplied by the legendary king of juju music, King Sunny Ade, who had all in attendance on their toes as he hit the bandstand.

On Saturday, March 7, a church wedding was held for the couple.
