Many people say blood is thicker than water but some instances have proven that people who are related to us are also capable of great harm to our well-being.
A number of married women face problems in their homes owing to their husband’s cheating ways. Many times, these men cheat with strange ladies and other times they do it with ladies who are close to their wife.
Nigerian gospel singer, Gloria Doyle, has shared some of her tough life experiences in an interview with The Nation.
According to the musician, she lost her husband and her three kids to her younger sister after she eloped with them to America.
Gloria said that her ex-husband is an American citizen despite being Nigerian and he had asked for the children to come over. The singer agreed, thinking it was all for the best, only to discover that he was actually having an affair with her younger sister who is living in America through him.
Gloria said that when the children were travelling to America, all the documents were altered and her name was removed and replaced with her sisters’.
She said: “Their father is an American citizen though he is a Nigerian by birth. He said he wanted the children to come over; I too thought it would be a better opportunity for them. So, I allowed them to go. It is not that I couldn’t have gone, but at that point, what happened was that he was actually having an affair with my younger sister, who is at present living in America through him. And when the children were going to America, the documents were altered. My name was removed, while my younger sister’s name replaced mine. So, when it was time for me to go to the US, I was denied visa. I have been denied visa three times now. It has got to a point where a DNA test is required to prove that I am the children’s mother and that is the point where it is. So, it’s only when my children come here that I can think of going to America. It has made my travelling out of the country very difficult. And that was the original plan, which was to frustrate me and make me unable to see my children again. But with God, things are looking good.”
Despite her ordeal, Gloria has said that she has forgiven her sister and that she holds no grudge against her. She also said all her kids are now grown up and they relate which is important to her.
The singer said that her first son is now 27 while the second is 26 and the last born is 24.
