Pastor invited for family deliverance dies suddenly

Fear has gripped a family in Anambra state after a pastor invited to perform a deliverance on members of the family died on the day the deliverance should have been conducted.

A member of the family who did not want to be named said the powerful man of God was invited from Warri in Delta state based on the recommendation of somebody, Vanguard reports.

The source said they were all surprised to find the pastor lying dead in the room he slept on the day the deliverance was supposed to be performed.

The family member said they are all in fear and shock over the incident.

“We were surprised to see the lifeless body of the pastor the next morning which should be the day for the deliverance,” the source said.

Haruna Mohammed, the spokesperson for the Anambra police command has confirmed the incident.

The police identified the deceased as Pastor Richard Ifeanyi Obi, who was found lying lifeless in the room he slept.

The police spokesperson said the pastor was rushed to the hospital where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.

“One Ikechukwu Uchendu of No. 5 Onuorah Street Amaenyi Awka reported at the Central Police Station Awka that one Pastor Richard Ifeanyi Obi, who came from Warri to perform family prayers in his house, was found lying lifeless in the room he slept," the police said.

“Following the report, Police detectives attached to CPS Awka visited the scene, photographed the victim and rushed him to the hospital where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.

In another news, the Defence and Police Officers Wives’ Association, (DEPOWA) has again taken its consistent humanitarian visits to the Vine Heritage Home Foundation in Abuja.

DEPOWA, in line with its commitment to giving a helping hand to the most vulnerable in society, donated a truckload of relief materials to the foundation in Kuje area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Vice President of DEPOWA, Mrs Grace Balogun, led other members of the association to make the donation on behalf of the president, Mrs Omobolanle Olonisakin, on Thursday, February 20.

Items donated include 50 cartons of Indomie, five gallons of 25 litres of groundnut oil, 20 cartons of detergent, 10 cartons of washing soap, 11 cartons of baby food, 21 cartons of baby milk and 20 packs of baby diaper.

Others are 20 bags of semovita, six cartons of Haze odour control, five bags of corn, two bags of sugar, 10 cartons of milk, 10 cartons of Bournvita and Milo, five bags of beans, five cartons of bathing soap, one carton of vaseline, 20 packs of spaghetti, 10 cartons of JIK and five cartons of Izal/Dettol.
