Insurgents' ideology: Clerics embark on church-mosque love campaign

- Clerics across Nigeria have called on Christians and Muslims to embark on a campaign of love against Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria

- The clerics said the campaign will help defeat the ideology of Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria

- According to the clerics, the campaign will be focused on frustrating the agents of destabilization using Boko Haram insurgency

Members of National Inter-Faith and Religious Organizations for Peace (NIFROP) will be embarking on a campaign to defeat the ideology of Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria.

The members of the organisation mostly clerics at the end of their 21-day prayer and fast for the unity and peace of Nigeria at the Unity Fountain, Abuja canvassed support for the Nigerian military.

The group said it will schedule a love campaign in churches and mosques across the country in line with a divine direction that must be adhered to.

In a communique co-signed by Bishop Prince Madaki, Bishop Lawrence Ngene, Sheik Ahmad Jiddah Umar and Sheik Ja'afaru Kantoma, the campaign is focused on frustrating the agents of destabilization using Boko Haram insurgency.

The organisation said these terrorists have nothing to do with Christianity or Islam, hence Nigerians must be enlightened.

Also, all cleric in the country to join the campaign, going all out to preach the gospel of love and unity of Nigeria.

The clerics said the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration have seen to the defeat Boko Haram.

The organisation also noted that enemies of the country recently politically motivated the growing insecurity in Borno state.

NIFROP urged all Christian's and Muslim faithful to embark on a campaign against the agents of destabilization using Boko Haram or any other group's action to cause a religious war in the country.

It also called for the declaration of a state of emergency in Borno state and any other states in Nigeria whose political leadership compromises its responsibility in providing security for the citizens.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state had urged the Federal Government to take some key steps in order to win the insurgency war in the northeast.

The governor said the Nigerian Army lacks the manpower and necessary equipment to defeat the Boko Haram insurgents.
