Okada ban: Police, riders clash in Ijora Olopa

- Police and riders have clashed in Ijora area of Lagos

- The clash is connected with the recent ban on okada and tricycles plying Lagos roads

- Meanwhile, Nigerians faulted the Lagos state government over the initiation

Following the ban on okada and tricycle from plying some Lagos roads, affected riders are currently clashing with men of Nigeran police in the Ijora Olopa area of the state.

According to GIDITRAFFIC, shooting was also recorded in the clash.

"Clash and shooting reportedly ongoing at Ijora Olopa area. Police with Okada and Keke riders. Pls avoid that route for now," the traffic watch media outfit wrote on its Twitter page.

In reaction to the update, Nigerians faulted the Lagos state government over the initiation.

According to TeniWealth, Nigerians should not honour a government that is placing a burden on them.

"This is it. We shouldn't honour government that isn't giving her citizenship anything good other than more burden. People should revolt," the Twitter user said.
